Remembering Those That Have Died, 10 Years ago Today

Do you remember where you were 10 years ago? What you were doing? Who you were with? The sights, the sounds? Most the time I can’t remember what I did an hour ago let alone a year ago but I remember where I was 10 years ago.
Now I wasn’t born here I was born in England, when the time was right I got my papers and became an American. This is my home now. I remember 9/11/2001 like it was yesterday, do you?
Remember those that dies for no reason
10 years ago today a child of mine was knocking on the door to wake my husband and I up telling something hit a building in New York! He had been watching cartoons when the news broke in about the first plane. We turn on the news just a minute or two before the second plane hit the twin towers.

We watched as smoke came pouring out of the towers, as a man jumps to his death. We sat all day like millions of Americans and watch in deep horror at what had just happen. I can close my eyes and still see the people, the smoke, and the buildings burning.

For what reason? All because someone believe in an idea so badly that they were willing to die for it. Just how strong one’s beliefs must be to be willing to get on a plane just to kill those who don’t agree with your way of thinking? I remember cheering when we find out the third plane got taken back and stopped by true Americans. They knew they were going to die so they band together and died with honor.
Do you have an belief in something so much to willing go to your death? What happen to us believing in our country? God?

I remember 9/11 ten days ago today. The families who lost loved ones, the children growing without parents. Hearing how others knowing there was a good chance they were getting out of the buildings alive still helped others in hope that they would be able to. The fireman who died helping others. Thank God there were cell phones so those who knew they weren’t coming home were able to at least say goodbye.
There will always be a country or a group of people who will hate us, it’s just the way it is.

I remember where I was when someone took it upon themselves to strike into the heart of America.
Do you? Take time today to send a quick prayer out for those who have to still live with the aftermath of our worse day.

And never forget those had died and those still willing to fight for us. God Bless America!
